SCBWI Conference Tip: Try Not To Piss Off The Editors
And here, as a public service announcement, we share with you the inestimable Arthur A. Levine, Vice President of Scholastic Inc. and the Editorial Director of Arthur A. Levine Books, taking a momentary break after a full day at a SCBWI conference:
Hi Lee, After my "more gentle" guest blog about stalking and other conference tips, I would have loved to watch this being filmed. You're a hoot! I'm glad I got the chance to meet you at the conference. Love you and your inspiration, Jane Makuch
(Editor enters stall, closes door, unaware anyone else is in bathroom.) Agent in next stall: "Hey, just checking to make sure everything is coming out okay." (Editor appears surprised. Says nothing.) Agent in next stall: "Do you want me to come over there?" Editor: "You just stay right where you are and mind your own business!" Agent: "Hey (name of famous author) I'm going to have to call you back. Some guy here thinks I'm talking to him."
Bathroom stalkings are the worst.
