Linda Sue Park's SCENE BUILDING Workshop. Play Along!

Now Linda's reading an excerpt from "A Single Shard," her amazing Newbury Award winning book that - true confession - made me cry. (It's okay, Linda. I forgive you!)

Okay, read these two lines:

The potter stared at the boy for a long moment. At last Min seemed to make up his mind about something, and when he spoke again, his voice had lost the sharpest edge of its anger.

Wow - she used two camera POVs in the same paragraph, back to back sentences! First sentence, the magic camera watched both Tree Ear and Min. The second sentence, Tree Ear held the camera! I never noticed that before. Did YOU notice that?

Read it again...

The potter stared at the boy for a long moment. At last Min seemed to make up his mind about something, and when he spoke again, his voice had lost the sharpest edge of its anger.

That is so cool...

Wow.

  1. And that was just the first day. It was an incredible Master Class. Linda Sue was so giving and open about her process and made it so available to each participant and encouraged us to take it and make it our own. Wow! More, more more programing like this. Amazing. Now off to put it all into practice.
