But yes, there are opportunities to get critiques and interact with other industry professionals. Also, this article by author Martha Brockenbrough is a great snapshot into conference dreams and expectations, and sometimes unexpected successes. http://www.scbwi.org/martha-brockenbrough-summer-bulletin-ss/ The Los Angeles region is very active and a great resources for you as well, and connecting with the Westside Mingle folks (who meet in Santa Monica) can give you the perspective of local people who have done both New York and Los Angeles's big SCBWI conferences. Cheering you on on your adventure ahead,
LeeLee Wind, M.Ed.https://www.blogger.com/profile/06314692778355984313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4082597367384086450.post-45160717611455380312015-12-05T12:22:55.672-08:002015-12-05T12:22:55.672-08:00Hi there.
I am a new author and new to the SCBWI....Hi there.

I am a new author and new to the SCBWI. I'm thinking of attending the conference in NYC in February, but would like to know what to really expect. Is it possible to really interact with other successful authors and show my work to book publishers? This is a big expense for me so I'd like to know if it is worth the while.

Thanks.

Albin
Santa MonicaNew Authorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08004684190025106018noreply@blogger.com
