Registration is now open for the 2012 SCBWI Summer Conference!
We have a pretty incredible line-up this year and are gearing up for a truly memorable conference.
You can check out the keynotes, panels, workshops and hands-on intensives here: 2012 Summer Conference
Here on the Conference Blog we will have pre-conference interviews, tips and information leading up to August. Then, during the conference you'll find moment-by-moment coverage of this truly unique children's literature event!
Makes me want to cry... Will be too far along my pregnancy to attend it. I would've looove to meet Toni DiTerlizzi!
ReplyDeleteI looked at the line up and didn't see opportunities to pitch editors/agents. Did I look at the wrong schedule?

ReplyDeleteWhile there have been some informal pitch sessions in the past, verbal pitching isn't part of the schedule of events. But hanging out in the hotel lobby and pool area, and the party Saturday night, there are lots of opportunities to meet the agents and editors, and strike up conversations, many of which land on the questions, "So, what are you working on?" That's when you graciously 'pitch.' Also, the manuscript critiques are an amazing opportunity to get face-time with an expert and hear their assessment of where you are and what you need to do next career-wise.
The summer conference is truly amazing, and I hope you check it out!
